Showtime has canceled Kevin Iso and Dan Perlman’s comedy series Flatbush Misdemeanors, Deadline reports. Based on their successful digital series, Flatbush Misdemeanors starred the two creators as fictionalized versions of themselves attempting to adapt to living in Brooklyn’s Flatbush neighborhood. The digital series was awarded the Best North American Short Film at the London Film Festival and the Grand Jury Award for Best Narrative Short at the 2018 Florida Film Festival....

Fiore Films, an independent production company, today announced that Gotti: In the Shadow of My Father will begin principal photography on-location in New York on January 3, with pre-production starting in September. It’s official: Hugh Jackman is coming back as Logan, as has been previously confirmed by the actor and Ryan Reynolds. Fangoria has learned that IFC Films has acquired Eric Nicholas’ creepy psycho-thriller Alone With Her. The movie is told from the point of view of hidden cameras that an obsessed stalker (Colin Hanks) plants in the home of a young woman (Ana Claudia Talancón) he’s fixated on. IFC will open the movie in New York City January 17, and then expand the release into other markets in the following weeks....

IFC today announced it is developing 11 new comedy projects for 2014 series consideration. Among them, the network has ordered three pilots and eight scripts, in line with the network’s “slightly off” sensibility that attracts a male skewing, adults 18-49 audience. Richard Gelfond, CEO of screen exhibitor IMAX, believes that the Day-and-Date release experiment for big-budget films is now over. Gelfond’s statement comes in context to the profitable and highly recovering business that the company had in the first quarter of 2022. After a downslide during 2021, which saw continuing limitations on theatre screenings and low audience attendance due to shutdowns in some locations, IMAX recorded a steep rise in theater screenings and the consequent box-office collection in this year’s first quarter....

Actor Jeremy Renner is still in the intensive care unit after recently suffering a brutal accident involving a snow plowing machine, and his family has provided a small update on the situation.
