Reservation Road will begin production this fall, marking the inaugural movie to be made in the filmmaking partnership between Focus Features and Random House Films that was first announced last November. The former box office “king of the world,” Titanic, made a return voyage to one Los Angeles theater on Monday night. We took in a screening of the Best Picture winner at the ArcLight theater in Hollywood and producer Jon Landau, who also produced the current box office champion, Avatar, for director James Cameron, participated in a Q&A session after the film. We recently reported that a 3D re-release for Titanic was being planned for 2012 and Landau revealed they’re taking their time with the conversion process....

There have been several names mentioned lately as to who will be directing Paranormal Activity 2 and it seems they have finally decided on a director. Paranormal Activity director Oren Peliannounced that Kip Williams will direct Paranormal Activity 2. Here’s the statement Peli released. Previously, names such as Brian De Palma and Akiva Goldsman (who is also producing the sequel) had been mentioned to direct the sequel. Kevin Greutert was originally set to direct until Lionsgate forced Greutert to direct Saw VII 3D since he was still under contract....

Earlier today, we reported the surprising news that The Walking Dead showrunner Glen Mazzara has left the series. The move comes nearly a year and a half after he stepped in for series creator Frank Darabont. Just hours after the news broke, Sons of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter and Last Resort creator Shawn Ryan blasted AMC on their Twitter pages. It follows journalist Mikael and private investigator Lisbeth who seek to uncover the mystery of Harriet Vanger’s disappearance and presumed murder. The original Swedish films based on the books starred Noomi Rapace as Lisbeth and Michael Nyqvist as Mikael Blomkvist. While these films saw a great deal of popularity in Sweden, they were not as valued internationally because they were in Swedish and required subtitles, which many audiences have a difficult time with as some things often get lost in translation....

Tim Allen is still a little sour about the cancelation of Last Man Standing, but he’s “very interested” in a Home Improvement revival series like Roseanne. Last Man Standing ran for six seasons on ABC before it was canceled despite it being the 2nd highest rated show on the network. Fans of the show and Allen were shocked and saddened by the sudden cancelation and the comedian is still in hopes that another network will pick up the series....
